YOUNG ARTISTS HAVE ALWAYS FOUND IT A STRUGGLE TO CONTEND IN THE ARTWORLD WHEN FIRST STARTING OUT. COMPETITONS COST TOO MUCH WITH NO GAURANTEE OF GETTING TO THE FINAL ROUNDS, AND GALLERY HIRE CAN COST THE EARTH WHEN ONLY AVALIABLE FOR AT MOST 2 WEEKS AT A TIME.

SO MINESTRONE WAS BORN.

MINESTRONE 2010  is an exhibition focussed on youth fusing together a multiple of creative talents over a period of four weeks. It will be hosted in a new and exciting contemporary art gallery, THE JOY GALLERY, and THE GUILDHALL, in the heart of Chichester, West Sussex. The exhibition is an aid to support young artists in their ambitions to get their work out on the open market. The ten artists involved age between 18 and 27, all at different stages in their life with work or college.

The entire show is run by young people, from the gallery owners to the designers for the posters and flyers, and not just the artists themselves. The artists will all have additional roles to play in the creation of the show, so as to gain knowledge on all the input that is needed for the show to succeed. This information will be invaluable for the artists to aid them in their career as an artist.
